Whose Writing?

Good hello everyone! My name is Charlotte, and this is my lovely little blog. Nice, is it not? It has been neglected for a couple of years, but I've come in Grand Designs style and done it all up. Doesn't it look fancy!

Now, I'm sure you're wondering, "who on earth is Charlotte?" - and that is a very good question (and one I ask myself sometimes. Because really, who are we? But I digress, I'll save my existential crisis for when we know each other a little better). I'm a 21 year old knit-a-holic living in the South-West of England. Waaaaaaaay back in 2011 when I was just a little 16 year old cooped up indoors with Shingles, I decided I wanted to learn how to knit. With a few quick google searches I had ordered myself a knitting book, stumbled upon Ravelry and, more importantly, discovered knitting blogs.

I have wanted to be a writer my whole life, and one day I hope to make that dream a reality  (I am currently writing my debut novel, "Life on Tour", which I'm hoping to self-publish next year!). I had dabbled with blog writing, and absolutely loved it! But I could never find a subject that I could stay consistently passionate about - until I discovered knitting.

After I knitted my first project - a pair of pink baby booties - I wrote my first blog post. That same week was the 2011 Knitting & Crochet Blog Week, and despite being a complete novice, decided to take part. I learned so much during that week (new knitting, writing and computer skills!), and made so many new Internet friends, that I decided that this was definitely what I wanted to do as my hobby.

And that, ladies & jellybeans, is how An Accidental Knitter was born. Over the course of the past four years I have: taken a couple of hiatuses, become an intermediate knitter, learnt an itsy-bitsy amount of crochet, created my own patterns, been mentioned in magazines, launched a podcast & a knitting YouTube channel, as well as my own knitting group! If that is what will happen in just four years, I'm very excited to see what will happen in the next four years! And, I hope you will be there to see me do it - because I wouldn't be able to do any of these things without the love and support from you guys! So thank you!
