Sock Knitters Anonymous

I am apart of a wonderful group on Ravelry, called 'Sock Knitts Anonymous'. Every month they set us challenges with prizes. Here is the 2013-2014 SKA Challenge Schedule, and my ideas for what I'll knit!

August 2013

Holiday month! This is the month where we finish all our sock WIPs! (I also use this month to get some of my other non-sock WIPs done and out of the way) To count towards the challenge, your WIPS must have been cast on before July 1st!

Casted on May 2013. Currently on the leg of the second sock

Casted on May 29th 2013. 1 sock is finished, second sock is yet to be cast on.

Casted on July 7th 2013 (do not count towards the challenge). Currently on the cuff of the second sock.

September 2013

This months challenge is that we must knit with TROPICAL colours. We can use any tropical colours (hot, bright) in either solid or variegated yarn.

October 2013

This month we have been challenge with making Fraternal Pairs Patterns (both socks are different, not mirrored). OR Mirror images: either symmetrical cabling/lace or colourwork with reverse colours.

November 2013

This month the challenge is to use a pattern with cables/travelling stitches, OR, a pattern that has over 1,000 projects.

December 2013

This month we must use up leftover yarn, OR, use the Entrelac technique.

January 2014

This month is Lace OR intarsia.

February 2014

This month we are to use under-appreciated patterns! We have to choose a pattern that have less than 15 projects and have been published 3 months prior to the challenge!

I am going to choose a pattern closer to the time!

March 2014

The challenge for this month is to use patterns that are inspired by: Architecture OR Nature

For: Me
Yarn: Patons Soft Baby 4ply in Sunset Print (189)

April 2014

This month we must use stranded colourwork OR regional/traditonal theme (ex. celtic knots, baltic lace, Scandinavian colourwork)

For: Not sure yet
Yarn: Araucania Ranco in 1945

May 2014

For May, the pattern and design must relate to either flora, fauna, science or technology, OR,  beaded socks.

For: Me
Yarn: Red Heart Margareta in Pink

June 2014

For June we are to use literary or historical themed patterns. 

For: Me
Yarn: Sirdar Town & Country 4ply in Gala Pink & Parchment

July 2014

For June we are to use patterns that make the most of self-striping yarn or variegated yarn OR foremothers' designers (ex. Elizabeth Zimmerman, nancy bush)

Yarn: Rico Design Superba Bamboo in Lilac/Grey Mix
